The Loulé Municipal Museum presents an unmissable cultural experience for the months of July and August: visits to the Islamic Baths and the Barreto Manor House, in another edition of “Nights with Heritage”.
This iconic site unites two historical periods of great heritage and symbolic value to the city, offering a unique window into the past. During the summer months, the space will be open extended hours, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., every Saturday. This allows the public to leisurely explore the traces of the Islamic and nobility's presence in Loulé.
To enhance the experience, at 9 p.m., there will be themed tours led by Museum technicians. These visits will delve into various aspects of the history, museography, archaeology, conservation, and restoration of this important heritage site.
The following topics will be addressed in July: "From excavation to the musealization of an archaeological site," by Daniela Grelha (July 5), "Conservation and restoration at the Islamic Baths and Barreto Manor House," by Ana Rita Vaza (July 12), and "What was eaten here? The study of nutrition based on animal remains," by Soraia Martins (July 26). The July 19 session will be announced soon.
It should be noted that the Islamic Baths and the Barreto Manor House, classified as National Monuments, are unique testaments to Loulé's history and culture. The Municipal Museum is committed to promoting and disseminating this heritage, making it accessible to all.
