The “Trovas e Serenatas de Amor São-Brasenses”, an initiative that aims to value love, peace and family, are back next Sunday, the 16th, for another edition that marks a meeting with the entire community at the São Brás Cineteatro Jaime Pinto, starting at 4:00 pm, with music, poetry, letters and love stories that promise to melt hearts.
As is tradition, this initiative, promoted by the Municipal Council of São Brás de Alportel, with the support of the Parish Council and the collaboration of local businesses, pays tribute to São Brás de Alportel couples who celebrate more than 50 years of union and sharing, and who pass on the baton to the younger ones, the bride and groom, who are taking their first steps on this journey of life together.
The musical entertainment will be provided by São Brasense talent. The event will also host the awards ceremony for the 2025 edition of the "Most Beautiful Love Letter" competition, in the youth and adult categories, and will also have a few surprises in store.
The São Brasense program for "Romantic Month" kicked off with the exhibition "Carlos Paredes, a love story with the Portuguese Guitar," on display at the Dr. Estanco Louro Municipal Library until March 6. The Library also dedicated its family storytelling session, "Flying Carpet," to the theme of love, highlighting the stories "Amor" by Inês Fonseca and "Love Grows Everywhere" by Barry Timms.
The romantic spirit also extends to local businesses and restaurants, which are preparing special offers and themed menus for Valentine's Day. At the Costume Museum, the month of February was sweetened with a chocolate bonbon-making workshop featuring flavors from the Algarve.
Even the Municipal Market has embraced the romantic atmosphere, with stalls filled with lovingly prepared products and craft displays. On Saturday, February 24th, the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School will present a culinary demonstration featuring chocolate.
