Next Friday, April 19th, at 9:00 pm, the Quarteira branch of the Loulé Municipal Library will be holding another “Let’s clear up doubts about…” session, this time with the aim of clarifying the public about work-related musculoskeletal injuries.
This initiative is attended by physiatrists Ana Lúcia Gomes, Ivone Rodrigues and Bruno Paiva.
Work-related musculoskeletal injuries (WMSIs) are musculoskeletal disorders that originate from work activities. They are highly prevalent. The main factors contributing to their development are repetitive movements, sustained postures, heavy lifting, extreme postures, and lack of recovery periods between tasks. Injury prevention through teaching active breaks, correct postures and movements, and joint protectors is the main objective of this communication.
Ana Lúcia Gomes is a hospital assistant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, responsible for spinal deviation consultations and a member of the pediatric rehabilitation team. She holds a postgraduate degree in Scoliosis and Neurodevelopment.
Ivone Rodrigues is a third-year internist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is a senior technician in Occupational Health and Safety and holds a postgraduate degree in Clinical Geriatrics. Bruno Paiva is a third-year internist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds a postgraduate degree in Sports Medicine.
