This Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025, the towns of Quarteira and São Brás de Alportel were once again hit by a blackout that left thousands of residents without electricity.
In a post on social media, David Gonçalves, councilor of the São Brás de Alportel City Council, explained that the failure was due to the "breakage of an E-Redes cable" and that the picket "is already on its way."
“It has nothing to do with yesterday’s situation,” he added.
In a statement, the São Brás de Alportel Council also clarified that it was damage to a cable "as part of ongoing work on Rua João Rosa Beatriz".
