Fuseta-Mar Beach has been officially open to vacationers since June 7th, following a sand restoration project completed by the municipality in record time. Less than two months after a visit by the Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Maria da Graça Carvalho, the beach is once again ready to welcome swimmers this summer.
The rapid operation, led by the Municipality of Olhão, restored the usual quality to one of the region's most popular beaches: "Our goal was to ensure that Olhão residents and visitors could enjoy the beach with the same quality as always. This sand replenishment was essential to ensure that," emphasizes António Miguel Pina, Mayor of Olhão.
Despite the success of this immediate solution, the mayor emphasizes the importance of moving forward with the structural work announced by Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho, which aims to combat silting in the Ria Formosa and ensure the stability of the Fuseta sandbank in the medium and long term. "This intervention cannot be ignored," warns António Miguel Pina, recalling the government's commitment made on April 10th.
