Parque de Lazer das Figuras now has improved safety and comfort, as well as new equipment for various age groups.
Parque das Figuras now boasts a completely renovated leisure, sports, and recreation area. This space, which was showing signs of deterioration, underwent a major renovation, awarded by the Municipality of Faro to Govi – Urbanismo, Unipessoal Lda., for a total value of 344,950 euros, plus VAT. The project aims to improve the aesthetics and usability of the entire area, as well as ensure safety and accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
In this context, the structures were maintained in good condition and all those that did not meet the required safety standards were replaced. The climbing frame and climbing frames were retained, and the impact surface was resurfaced. The existing sports complex also underwent extensive repairs. The outdated play and recreation area equipment was replaced with new, more challenging equipment. An area with inclusive equipment accessible to all was also created, as well as an area with outdoor gym equipment (fitness and street workout) for various fitness levels, and a pump track for skateboards, bicycles, and scooters.
The renovation of the space was inaugurated as part of Faro Ativo, an initiative that took place at Parque de Lazer das Figuras on the 28th and 29th of September and will take place in various spaces around the city until the 3rd of November.
