The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel awarded a Vote of Commendation to journalist Isa Vicente, a native of the municipality, in public recognition of her professional career, her unique contribution to local communication and her dedication over a decade to the newspaper “O Sambrasense”, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The distinction was awarded on July 1, following the decision unanimously approved at a regular meeting of the municipal executive held on June 3, 2025.
With a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Algarve, Isa Vicente began her career as a student at José Belchior Viegas Secondary School, joining the editorial staff of the school newspaper "100 Ideias 100 Imagens," where she reinforced her passion for journalism. After a curricular internship at the Municipal Communications Office, she began volunteering with several regional publications, always with a strong desire to give a voice to the community that had seen her grow up.
Her connection to the newspaper Notícias de S. Bráz began in 2011, followed in 2014 by collaboration with “O Sambrasense”, where she took on the role of editor-in-chief in 2015. Since then, Isa Vicente has been a driving force in the renewal of the newspaper, reformulating the editorial line, promoting interviews with local personalities and accompanying São Brásenses around the world.
During the pandemic, the newspaper reinforced its commitment to the community, ensuring a more consistent presence through its online page, updating data on COVID-19 and providing relevant information to the population.
With 10 years of service to “O Sambrasense”, Isa Vicente actively contributes to keeping alive an information project essential to local identity and cohesion.
The City Council congratulates Isa Vicente on this decade of dedication to local journalism, thanking her for her valuable service to the municipality and its community.
