The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel signs a protocol with the Ministry of Education to carry out €200,000 in works at the Secondary School

A series of fundamental interventions to ensure the best conditions for the education of young people will move forward at the José Belchior Viegas Secondary School, following the signing of a collaboration protocol between the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Ministry of Education, signed this Friday, July 4, in Lisbon.

Represented by Vice-President Marlene Guerreiro, responsible for the Education Department, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel reaffirms its commitment to quality public education, prepared for the challenges of the future. This agreement facilitates a €200,000 investment, essential to continue the school's modernization work, which has been carried out by the municipality as part of the transfer of educational responsibilities.

The future is built with commitment, responsibility, and investment in new generations. With this goal in mind, this Friday, July 4th, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel took another significant step toward improving the municipality's school infrastructure by signing a Collaboration Agreement for Urgent Renovation Works at José Belchior Viegas Secondary School.

Representing the Municipality, the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Marlene Guerreiro, traveled to Lisbon to formalize this important protocol with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, reaffirming the Municipal Council's commitment to valuing public, local and quality education.

The agreement now signed will allow for urgent structural work on the school building, including roof repairs, slope correction for water drainage, crack repair, plaster and expansion joint repair, and exterior and sports hall painting.

With this planned investment financed by the Ministry of Education, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel assumes full management of the project, from the preparation of the projects to the execution of the work, ensuring greater proximity, speed and efficiency in the process.

"Education will always be our priority; it's the best investment we can make in building a better future for our community. With this intervention, we're responding to an urgent need and ensuring that our young people can learn in safer, more modern, and accessible spaces for all," said Vice President Marlene Guerreiro, emphasizing the importance of decentralization as a tool for local development.

Through this protocol, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel reinforces its active role in the area of Education, following the national strategy of decentralization of powers, and paves the way for a more modern, functional school that meets the demands of the future.
