As part of the celebrations for World Tourism Day (27 September), the Municipality of Loulé is promoting free initiatives with a program that runs for two days, highlighting the importance of tourism for the local economy.
On the 27th, the creative tourism activity "Photowalk: Street Photography" will take place, with photographer and Loulé Criativo partner Vítor Pina. The initiative aims to be a unique journey through the city's streets and begins at 6:30 pm at Palácio Gama Lobo. Registration is free and can be completed through the Loulé Criativo website.
Also on this day, regional sweets, gifts and promotional leaflets will be offered to tourists visiting the various tourist offices in the municipality of Loulé.
Loulé Criativo opens its doors at Palácio Gama Lobo on September 28th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for a showcase of the local creative community. On this "Open Day," the public will be able to meet different generations of artisans and makers who will be working live, explaining the techniques they use and giving demonstrations in which the public can participate for free. Artisans, designers, makers and creative tourism partners will bring the historic building to life, offering activities ranging from traditional arts such as pottery, weaving, and palm and esparto weaving, to contemporary jewelry and local cuisine.
The "Open Day" concludes with a trip to the Loulé countryside, led by nature guide Joana Banha, at 5:00 p.m. at Palácio Gama Lobo and at 6:30 p.m. at Ribeira do Cadoiço. Registration is available through the Loulé Criativo website: www.loulecriativo.pt
