Climate change and cities was the theme of the 61st Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, where IPMA represented Portugal.
The session was dedicated, among other topics, to the preparation of the draft versions of the IPCC Special Report on “Climate Change and Cities” and the “Methodological Report on Short-Lived Climate Forcers” (SLCF), as well as the timing and strategic planning for the seventh assessment report (AR7).
The Portuguese delegation to this session was led by Diamantino Henriques, meteorologist and senior technician at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics of IPMA, who participated from July 27 to August 2, 2024.
