Daniel Geraldo presents two children's books on school integration at the Loulé Library.
In another session of the "Open Books" section, Daniel Geraldo, a teacher at Hortas de Santo António Elementary School/JI, will be at the Loulé Municipal Library to present two children's books that address the theme of integration in the school environment: "Eleonora's Restlessness" and "Afonso's Hands." The event will take place on September 25th at 6:00 p.m.
"Eleonora's Disquiet" is a touching story about the first day of school for a young girl named Eleonora, who faces a storm of emotions, anxiety, and unease. With her equally anxious parents, Eleonora struggles to find peace amidst the inner turmoil that the new school environment provokes.
The narrative explores the fear and uncertainty that accompany the beginning of a new stage and the protagonist's emotional journey in search of peace and confidence.
Will Eleonora be able to find the peace she so desires at the end of the day?
A charming book about the first day of school, childhood fears, and the discovery of friendship. A sensitive and inclusive story about empathy, diversity, and the power of communication. Ideal for children, families, and educators, it covers topics such as the first days at school, emotions, deafness, and Portuguese Sign Language.

In the book "Afonso's Hands," change always generates great uncertainty. Afonso's parents had to change jobs and cities, and consequently, Afonso had to change schools. This change is the culmination of many insecurities and fears in Afonso, as he believes his classmates won't understand him and won't be able to communicate with him. In fact, Afonso has a different way of communicating, which causes a lot of strangeness in others and causes him to break out in cold sweats of anguish and even fear. Will the adjustment to a new school go well? Will his classmates understand him?
This initiative, which marks the start of the new school year, is free to enter.
