Open Books hosts a presentation by João Into Cabi in Loulé

The "Open Books" section returns to the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library in Loulé to host a presentation of "Mininu de Criasson," a work by Guinean João Into Cabi. The session will take place on February 23rd at 6:00 pm and will be presented by Maria Fael.

João Into Cabi was born in Gam-Jandim, in northern Guinea-Bissau, near the border with Senegal, on February 12, 1967. He completed his primary education in Colonato, in the Biombo region. He completed his secondary and secondary education at the 23 de Janeiro High School in Bissau. He completed the Basic Education Teacher Training Course at the Bolama Training School and, later, the Secondary Portuguese Teacher Training Course at the Tchico Té High School in Bissau. 

He participated in several seminars on artistic expression at the School of Arts in Bissau. He was the principal of the Pirada Primary School and a teacher trainer in Camadjaba, Bruntuma, and Canquelefa. He participated in the process of raising public awareness of the first platform for democracy in Guinea-Bissau. In Bissau, he taught Portuguese at the 23 de Janeiro High School and at the Godofredo Vermão de Sousa Primary School. With a scholarship from the Portuguese Cooperation Institute, he participated in the training of Portuguese teachers for Guinea-Bissau high schools at the Bissau Cultural Center. He came to Portugal in late 2000 with a scholarship from the Camões Institute. He studied at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon. He currently lives and works in Paris.
