Presented by Marta Santos, at the Professor Joaquim Romero Magalhães Municipal Archive, the conference “Loulé on the timeline” will take place on January 20th, at 3 pm, at the Convent of Santo António, in Loulé.
"From the mortar altarpiece of the Convent of Santo António dos Capuchos to the ornate parapets of Loulé: from interior stucco to exterior mortar ornaments" is the title of the upcoming conference "LOULÉ on the Timeline," presented by Marta Santos at the Professor Joaquim Romero Magalhães Municipal Archives. This event will take place on January 20th, at 3:00 p.m., at the Convent of Santo António in Loulé.
From the beautiful altarpiece of lime mortar and plaster (built around 1770-1790), located in the chapel of the Third Order, in the church of the former Convent of Santo António dos Capuchos de Loulé, it will be possible to see some of the iconographic elements used in the interiors of religious architecture and which remained, over time, in the ornamentation of the exterior facades of the civil architecture of the municipality of Loulé.
Marta Santos is an architect, master in Rehabilitation of Architecture and Urban Centers (FAUL), postgraduate in Intangible Cultural Heritage (ULHT) and doctoral candidate in Architecture, Conservation and Restoration (FAUL – FCT).
He was part of the FCT LNEC DB-HERITAGE Project Historical and heritage building materials (2017) and the FCT LNEC LIMECONTECH Project Conservation and durability of historical coverings (2012). He was part of the GTAA Algarve Barlavento (2002 – 2003) and Sotavento (2006 – 2007) teams, Albufeira Municipality – MITR Intervention Methodologies and Rehabilitation Techniques (2004 – 2006), Tavira Municipal Museum (2008 – 2011).
He has dedicated himself to the interpretation and research of the cultural landscape and vernacular architecture of the Algarve region.
