A wide range of innovative cuisine and snacks, along with a cultural program to suit all tastes, will be the highlights of this year's International Snail Festival, which takes place from July 18th to 20th at Revelim de Santo António.
Snail Xarém, Snail Empada, Snail Pizza, and Snail à Brás will be some of the innovative new recipes that join the traditional snail dishes, well-prepared by restaurants and local communities, which promise to delight those present during the three days of festivities, with free admission.
The venue will also feature other delicacies, Spanish cuisine, regional sweets and local craft beer, starting at 6:00 pm.
This year's program includes performances by Charanga Los del Ruedo, Domingos e Amigos and Fábia Rebordão on July 18th, Pardais à Solta, Los Gurumelos and Luís Gomez on July 19th, ending with Olho's 4, Jorge & os “Queridos” and the show “Eis o Algarve” signed by Nelson Conceição on July 20th.
This event aims to establish the town of Castro Marim as a destination for the best snails in the Algarve, in addition to promoting traditional products, cuisine and Mediterranean culture and being a stimulus for local commerce, valuing the structure and heritage built on the hill of Revelim de Santo António, which leaves no one indifferent.
The International Snail Festival is organized by the Municipality of Castro Marim, with the collaboration of the municipality's many associations and clubs.
