The work “Chronicles in times of war”, by Nuno Pereira da Silva, will be presented on July 22nd, at 6:30 pm, at the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library, in Loulé.
"Chronicles in Times of War," written in 2023, is a slightly longer book because a new war broke out that year between Israel and Hamas, something that for a military, strategy, and political science analyst is a daily challenge.
Analyzing a conflict based on the tools provided by tactics, strategy, and the theories of Political Science and International Relations is not an easy task, although there is a common thread between them, as it requires a great deal of reflection and analysis of the facts, and distinguishing between information and counterinformation.
Trying to conduct an independent analysis, without following the narratives, is in a way a Quixotic act, as they often contradict those of the majority of analysts in Portugal, who are very pro-NATO, very un-European, and very un-independent.
The book ultimately aims to answer questions about what the emerging New World Order will be like in the future, and what the consequences will be in this struggle for global power if Trump wins the US elections.
Nuno Pereira da Silva is a retired Infantry Colonel with a General Staff Degree. He holds a Master's degree in Military Science, a postgraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science. He currently serves as Secretary of the General Assembly of the Military Review, Vice-President of the General Assembly of the Maltese Cross, and is a member of the SEDES Security and Defense Observatory.
