Read-aloud club debuts in Almancil

The new Casimiro de Brito Branch of the Loulé Municipal Library, in Almancil, will have, from October 2025, a Reading Club, CLEVA, for young people aged 12 to 16.

CLEVA takes place during the school year, on the second Saturday of the month, at 4 pm, with the first meeting taking place on the 11th.

For young people who enjoy challenges, socializing, and a good story, and who want to be part of a club dedicated to the world of books and stories, this is the ideal club.

During the sessions, a collective immersion into the imaginary worlds of books takes place. Throughout the year, vocal and body language techniques will be worked on, fostering the group's ability to tell stories. Through sharing ideas and transmitting texts, participants gain confidence in their voices, further stimulating their creativity.

Promoting regular reading sessions (out loud, of course!), discovering amazing stories and out-of-the-box book formats, experiencing the library as a place for collective reading, and developing participants' creative and expressive abilities are some of the project's goals.

CLEVA meetings last an hour and a half. Initially, the books will be selected by the Library, but throughout the year, this selection may become collective.

Participation is free. Registration is done in person or by email to biblioteca@cm-loule.pt. CLEVA has 12 vacancies for young people.
