Castro Marim was once again awarded as a “Sports-Friendly Municipality” last Friday, May 31, by the person responsible for the project, Pedro Mortágua.
This award recognizes the practices adopted by municipalities in promoting sport and physical activity, and is a public recognition of excellence and support for the sports associations that partner with the Municipality of Castro Marim.
Ten areas are considered to award the title: sports organization, facilities, events, programs, ecological sustainability strategies, solidarity sports, partnerships, sports reality, legislation, marketing and innovation.
The “Sport-Friendly Municipality” program is promoted by the Cidade Social platform, constituting a network of Portuguese municipalities, a group for sharing good practices, benchmarking and training in relation to the municipalities' intervention model in physical activity practices and sports development.
