This summer, the #BandeiraAzul Program invites all vacationers to participate in the Body Salva activity in Faro.
A free initiative that aims to train the public in practical and essential water rescue skills. The training takes place between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. and is free entry.
Given the growing number of drownings on Portuguese beaches, raising awareness and preparing swimmers has become even more urgent. Body Saves arises as a response to this need, offering a practical experience in a real beach context. The action allows participants learn and practice rescue, transportation and basic life support techniques, with a focus on safety and efficacy.
Sessions include demonstrations of basic rescue maneuvers, safe ways to transport victims on the beach and at sea, and guidance on how to act in emergency situations until emergency professionals arrive. The objective is clear: equip citizens with tools that can save lives, especially in places where response time can be crucial.
The training is highly recommended for all regular beachgoers, families with children, young people, water sports enthusiasts, and anyone interested in promoting a safer summer.
Body Salva activity dates and locations:
- July 27 – Culatra: on the sand (coast), beach entrance on the right side
- August 10 – Lighthouse: on Praia Grande, between Bar do Tiago and the beach concession
- September 7th – Faro Beach: on the sand in front of the boat bridge
Bring comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and a desire to learn. We're counting on you for a more conscious and safe summer!
