Azores Airlines announces route between the Azores and the Algarve

The inaugural trip of the new connection between Ponta Delgada and Faro, which took place this Sunday, June 2, has already brought 50 passengers from the United States and Canada to the Algarve region.

The first regular flight between the two Portuguese paradises, the Algarve and the Azores, had 50 passengers who received a little bit of the Algarve sea as a gift and were able to watch a well-danced corridinho.

The new route between Faro, Algarve, and Ponta Delgada, Azores, can be sold as a package, with flights three times a week. Azores Airlines will connect Ponta Delgada and Faro from June 2 to September 29, 2024, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight between the two cities will last approximately two hours and twenty-five minutes and will be operated on an Airbus A320 with a capacity of 168 seats.

With this investment, the airline seeks to consolidate its position in the national market, expand its route portfolio and increase network connectivity in the Azores, for example, allowing tourists originating in North America to choose to stay in the Azores or continue their journey to a range of destinations in Portugal (Lisbon, Porto and Faro) and the island (Madeira) and other European destinations, such as Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona or Bilbao.
