The São Bras municipal executive delivered this Tuesday, June 18, a vote of praise to the Sociedade Recreativa 1º de Janeiro whose youth football team won the title of champion of the Algarve Football Youth League 2 this season.
A magnificent achievement, described in the vote of praise as one that writes another page in the sporting history of the municipality and the Algarve. With this achievement, the team will have the opportunity to play in Liga 1 next season.
The Algarve Football Initiates League 2 was contested in the 2023/24 season by 39 teams and was decided in two phases. The young players from São Bras received the trophy from Albertino Galvão, vice-president of the Algarve Football Association.
Very positive results that reflect the work and dedication of a great team, made up of managers and technical staff, over many years with a strong and clear commitment to training and raising the competitive potential of these 23 young people born between 2009 and 2010.
The commitment to this sport, the strengthening of team spirit and the dedication to the team's goals are values defended by everyone.
The vote of praise delivered by the municipal executive, at the Town Hall, recognizes the work, dedication and dynamism of the directors, coaches and the entire team of the Sociedade Recreativa 1º de Janeiro, as well as the collaboration and effort of the families, and above all, the motivation, commitment and merit of the young people who demonstrated their resilience, team spirit and tenacity in each game, taking the name of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel throughout the region and the country.
