To mark the return of the carnation plantation, which gave rise to the 1974 revolution, an event to present the video 'Cravos de Abril' will be held on March 1st at the Auditorium/Library of CEAT – Tavira Agricultural Experimentation Center, with free admission and open to the public.
The event begins at 3:30 pm and includes a visit to the Algarve's traditional fruit collections at the Tavira Agricultural Experimentation Center. The visit aims to showcase the decades-long exploration, preservation, and characterization work that has also been carried out in this space, which was also the site of the implementation and experimentation of the April 25th carnations. This is followed by a presentation of the exhibition: "Tavira Agricultural Station (1926-1974)."
The premiere of the video 'Cravos de Abril' takes place at 5:30 pm and features several interventions, including: Mário Júlio Simões Teles – Captain-of-Sea-and-War and representative of the 25th of April Association, Guilhermina Madeira – protagonist of the video, among other personalities.
The initiative is organized by the Ecotopia Activa Association and the “Citizens for CEAT and Urban Gardens of Tavira” with the collaboration of the 25 de Abril Association and the support of CCDR Algarve IP | Agriculture and Fisheries and the Municipality of Tavira.
