During the month of August, young volunteers from the Just a Change project rehabilitated three homes belonging to vulnerable families in the municipality, located in Castro Marim, Corujos and Corte Pequena.
In a partnership between the non-profit association, the Municipality of Castro Marim and the Social Welfare Association of the Parish of Azinhal, the approximately 30 volunteers, including young university students, doctors, nurses and designers, provided better living conditions for families in need, under the supervision of a specialist in the area.
This association aims to combat housing poverty by renovating the homes of vulnerable people living in precarious conditions.
The aim was to dignify dilapidated housing, providing hope and stability to families at risk, in conjunction with the new Social Action Regulation of the Municipality of Castro Marim and in partnership with other entities.
The houses were handed over to their owners at the end of August, in very emotional and hopeful moments, opening a new chapter in the lives of these families.
The social impact of this intervention is measured by the transformation in the quality of life of these families.
The project ended with a lunch meeting.
