“Write to Me” Creative Writing Workshop in Loulé

On October 11th, Saturday, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, actor João Mota will teach the Creative Writing Workshop “Writing to Me” – Writing What I Feel, to Feel in a Freer and Fuller Way.

Creative writing is a tool for personal expression and self-discovery, especially during adolescence, a period marked by intense transformation. In this workshop, teens will be invited to explore and express their emotions through writing.

The activity, aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 20, includes warm-up exercises that stimulate creativity and freedom of expression, followed by specific proposals that encourage participants to reflect on their experiences and feelings. Adolescents will have the opportunity to express themselves through texts ranging from poems to short stories, allowing them to explore their inner world in a safe environment of unconditional positive acceptance.

The workshop aims to promote writing as a support tool for emotional catharsis, improving self-esteem and emotional well-being, helping young people understand and accept their feelings and emotions more fully and freely.

Prior registration is required for biblioteca@cm-loule.ptParticipation is free, but spaces are limited. A certificate of participation will be awarded.

João Mota has been a professional actor for 10 years, working in theater, film, and television. He holds a degree in Psychology and is currently completing a master's degree in clinical psychology. He has completed various training programs in dramatic expression in Portugal and Brazil.

He's been writing poetry since he was 12. Since then, writing has been a tool that has accompanied him, helping him organize his thoughts and emotions, or simply enjoy a moment of contemplation.

After recognizing the cathartic qualities of writing, he sought scientific validation of its positive impact on himself. In this sense, throughout his academic career, he gradually gave theoretical and scientific structure to his ideas, which allowed him to create projects that associate writing with emotional well-being. His artistic experience allowed him a unique connection with the world of emotions, which, combined with a passion for writing and his academic training in Psychology, led him to develop, over the last two years, activities with adolescents.
