The 2025 Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup will be held at the Algarve Stadium in July

The excitement of national football returns in style to the south of the country: the Cândido de Oliveira 2025 Sporting and Benfica Super Cup will be played at the Estádio do Algarve, on July 31, at 8:45 pm.

This competition, which marks the official start of the new Portuguese football season, promises to attract thousands of fans to the Algarve region to watch the clash between the national champion and the winner of the Portuguese Cup.

The choice of the Algarve Stadium to host this prestigious final reinforces the region's growing importance as a venue for major sporting events. With a capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators, the venue—located between Faro and Loulé—will once again host one of the biggest events in the national football calendar, having previously hosted other editions of the Super Cup, as well as international matches and pre-season training camps for renowned teams.

The Portuguese Football Federation will announce the exact date of the match shortly, along with the schedule and ticket information. A strong turnout of fans from across the country is expected, transforming the Algarve into a true sports festival.

In addition to the spectacle on the pitch, holding the Super Cup in the Algarve also represents a boost for tourism and the local economy, at a time when the region is experiencing the height of the high season.

Football, sun, and sea will once again collide in the Algarve this summer — and the Super Cup will undoubtedly be the first big goal of the new season.
